Eric Wuest is a longtime fixture in Salem’s arts community whose influence can be seen in nearly every corner of the city’s creative scene. A painter, arts advocate, and community-builder, Eric was a founding member of Artists in Action and played a key role in establishing beloved events like Paint the Town and Something Red. He helped launch the original Art Talk program on KMUZ and has supported public art initiatives throughout Salem, including curating artwork in the Salem Public Library.

Eric’s own paintings are both nostalgic and vibrant, often capturing familiar Salem landmarks with warmth and imagination. His recent solo show at the Salem Art Association showcased a wide range of these works and was met with tremendous acclaim. For the 2025 Salem Art Fair & Festival poster, Eric’s piece depicting the historic Bush House Museum in spring bloom was selected as the featured artwork: an image that reflects his signature style and love for the community.

Humble and generous, Eric continues to be a champion for local artists and a pillar of support in Salem’s arts scene.
